He may earn up to £200,000 every week but Wayne Rooney has been
badly affected by the recession – on his head.
When his Manchester United team-mate Michael Owen confronted him
with the bald facts, poor old Rooney ripped out what was left of his
thinning hair.
Rooney – who is only 25 – has seen his hairline recede quicker than
Owen’s international career. And the hot-tempered striker struggled
to keep his shiny head in check when Owen, 31, poked fun at the
profile picture on Rooney’s Twitter page.
In a tweet which could be read by Rooney’s 440,000 followers, Owen
said: “By the way, how old are you in that photo? Your face looks
like a 12-year-old’s but your hair looks like a 60-year-old’s!”
Rooney replied: “easy mo u know that’s a sensitive subject.”
Injury-prone Owen, who may have troublesome hamstrings but at least
has a full head of hair, said: “Won’t mention it again in public
then!!!”
Rooney replied: “Good lad.”
Well done, guys... unlike Roo’s hair, it’s not worth falling out
over this.
