Hair Loss Experts Visit UCLA Football to Educate Men About
Male Pattern Hair Loss
The International Society of Hair
Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) has announced the launch of Get Your Head in the
Game, a national consumer awareness program that will take place at select
college football stadiums across the country in order to educate men about male
pattern hair loss.
The program is sponsored by Merck & Co., Inc. The campaign
will stop on September 30, 2006 at the Rose Bowl for UCLA's game against the
Stanford Cardinal.
During the tour, college football fans will have an opportunity to:
-- Pick up important information about hair loss
-- Speak with an ISHRS physician about their hair loss situation
-- Vote for one of the five universities as the best tailgating school
-- Register for a chance to win a Segway® HT
"Early detection and intervention are important to treating and preventing
future hair loss," said Paul T. Rose, MD, JD, president of the ISHRS. "This
common medical condition should be evaluated and treated by a physician trained
in hair loss. ISHRS physicians are particularly skilled at assisting people who
experience hair loss."
A recent survey commissioned by the ISHRS showed more than three-quarters of men
(77 percent) would be very or somewhat concerned about their hair loss if they
were in their twenties and just starting out in their career and experiencing
noticeable hair loss.
Hair loss is a common medical condition occurring in nearly two out of every
three men and with the correct diagnosis and treatment program, many men can be
helped. Concerned men should visit the Get Your Head in the Game booth at the
UCLA football game on September 30th or visit http://www.hairlosshope.com .
