Ponting may need hair treatment: Warne
January 2006
Shane Warne believes Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting might need to seek
treatment for his thinning hair.
Warne modelled his luxuriant blond locks at a Sydney hair treatment salon and
said it had not escaped his notice that the captain was getting a little thin on
top.
"Have a look closely at the next one-dayer ... maybe we're driving him to it,"
Warne said.
Warne, at 36 the oldest man in the Australian team, said he might have to
recruit some of his younger team mates following the success of the laser
treatment he's been having.
"A few of them might need to come and see me. A few of them have already come to
see me.
"Punter, he's very high on the list," Warne said.
Warne, who first noticed he was losing his hair during a tour to India in
October 2004, declared himself delighted with the results of his treatment.
"You can see ... the results for me in the last six months have been
phenomenal."
He said it makes him feel younger and may even extend his cricket career. "Who
knows?"
"I think hair has been one of my trademarks over the years.
"I didn't want to go bald and I wanted to do something about it. I got it in
time so I could re-grow my own hair.
"I can still do Mohawks. I can do all different sorts of hair styles, which is
good."
But he'll draw the line at the matching the two-toned creation favoured by his
Hampshire team-mate and Ashes rival Kevin Pietersen.
"(He) definitely needs to come and see us. Have a look at his style - it looks
like a skunk. I'm sure we could fix him up."
