In its endeavour to highlight new technologies, The Times of India organized a trichology symposium, in association with the Chandigarh Dermatology Society and Sunetics International, on Wednesday.
The symposium, which was aimed at spreading awareness on latest advances in hair-loss treatment, highlighted the techniques of low level laser therapy (LLLT) clinical system.
In a first for India, Canada-based Medicom Lasers International is about to launch LLLT clinical laser system in the country, while manufacturing operations will be carried out by Sunetics International.
The advanced treatment is a non-invasive and no-chemical hair loss treatment therapy that is considered a quantum leap from other available options in India.
’’LLLT is one of the most exciting options in hair-loss treatment.
The painless therapy uses low-intensity lasers delivered by a devise containing laser segments that shine on the scalp.
This method does not cause any burning sensation, and patients can feel at perfect ease while undergoing the treatment,’’ said Vivek Malhotra, a specialist associated with the technology.
The symposium saw an impressive gathering of over 60 dermatologist from the region.
Besides, company representatives also made an announcement to set up a medical advisory board of leading dermatologists in the region.
