A 2009 study by The Cleveland Clinic charted a direct correlation between demand for cosmetic surgery and trends in the three major U.S. stock market indexes, the Dow, S&P 500 and NASDAQ.

Dr. Arocha also reports that Houston is seeing a major gender shift with a rapidly growing number of females who are experiencing hair loss choosing to restore their appearance through a hair transplant.

Currently, women make up approximately 20 percent of Arocha Hair Restoration patients, and that number is growing rapidly. Nationwide, according to the ASPS, women made up approximately 30 percent of hair transplant patients, which was an increase of 20 percent from 2009.
