Q. How is Regaine® Extra Strength different from Regaine® Regular Strength?

A. New Regaine® Extra Strength is more concentrated than Regaine® Regular Strength. Whereas Regaine® Regular Strength can be effective over a period of 16 weeks, Regaine® Extra Strength can show similar regrowth results in as little as 8 weeks. That's half the time. Regaine® Extra Strength can also provide up to 40% more new hair after 12 months continuous use than with Regaine® Regular Strength.

Q. How soon can I expect to see results after using Regaine® Extra Strength?

A. Hair grows slowly. At the start, for the first 2 - 6 weeks, there may be a temporary increase in hair loss - but please don't be alarmed! This is a perfectly normal reaction to Regaine® Extra Strength indicating that the hairs are shifting from a dormant growing phase to an active growing phase.

Since Regaine® Extra Strength delivers more active ingredient to the hair follicles than Regaine® Regular Strength, results can be seen as soon as 8 weeks after regular treatment begins. After some months you may notice less hair in the sink or shower. A little later the new hair should be soft or downy, while later on it could change and become the same colour and thickness as the rest of your hair. However, results may vary.

Q. Where can I buy Regaine® Extra Strength and what's the price?

A. You can buy Regaine® Extra Strength from your pharmacist without a prescription. It costs £29.95 for 30 days supply (the treatment works out at about £1 a day) or you can buy a triple pack for £59.95 (the treatment works out at about 67p a day).

Q. When should I stop using Regaine® Regular Strength and switch to Regaine® Extra Strength?

A. At any time. If you switch to Regaine® Extra Strength it will probably take 2 months to see if it works better for you.

Q. When should I stop using Regaine® Extra Strength if I do not see any results?

A. You should begin to see some improvement in 2 months but in some cases you may need to use Regaine® Extra Strength for up to 12 months for you to see your best results. In order for this to happen you must remember that you need to apply Regaine® Extra Strength twice a day, every day.

Q. Will Regaine® Extra Strength cause hair to grow on my hands or other parts of my body?

A. Since there are no hair follicles on the palms of your hands, it is unlikely that you will grow hair there. However, unwanted hair growth has been reported after an accidental transfer of Regaine® Extra Strength from the scalp to other parts of the body. For this reason, you should remember to wash your hands thoroughly after using Regaine® Extra Strength.

Q. Can Regaine® be used with a sun-blocking agent?

A. No. If you are planning to be in the sun after applying Regaine® Extra Strength, use headwear. However make sure that Regaine® Extra Strength is dry before donning your hat as there is a slight chance that Regaine® Extra Strength may stain some fabrics.

Q. Are there any side effects that I should be aware of?

A. Because Regaine® Extra Strength contains an alcohol base, a few users experience skin irritation. This problem is usually temoporary, but if it continues, stop using the product and ask your pharmacist for advice.

In very rare instances Regaine® Extra Strength can cause other side effects. If you notice anything unusual, stop using Regaine® Extra Strength and see your doctor.
